(Q6:103)\nI replied, \u201cOf course.\u201d Then he asked: \u201cDo you all know what \nal-Abs\u0101r are?\u201d I replied, \u201cOf course.\u201d Then he asked: \u201cWhat are they?\u201d  I replied, \u201cThey are Abs\u0101r meaning \u2018eyes\u2019.\u201d  He said, \u201cThe mind in your heart is more powerful than the eyes [with which you see]. Thus it is minds that cannot behold him, while He \nbeholds minds.\u201d\nTo guide Abu Hashim to the hidden meaning of the verse above, Imam al-Ridha (a) first asks him what he understands from the verse. It is worth mentioning that the word Abs\u0101r here refers to \u2018minds\u2019 .
