Muqatta'at \nliterally means abbreviated or shortened. Their meanings remain unclear and are considered by most scholars to be divine secrets.\nAfter all 29 surahs that start with these letters something is spoken about the Qur\u2019an except in surahs: Maryam, \u2018Ankabut, Rum and \nQalam.\nVerse no. 2 Do the people suppose that they will be let off because they say, \u2018We have faith,\u2019 and they will not be tested? Testing is part of \u2018Iman.\u2019 If you are a true mu\u2019min, then expect all sorts of difficulties and tests.\nWhen we call ourself \u2018Mu\u2019mineen,\u2019 we need to know that this title \u2018Mu\u2019mineen\u2019 comes with strings attached eg trials and tribulations.
